On Monday, I posted a great chart from Forbes [1] demonstrating how vaccines have improved health.  No diphtheria, no polio, no small pox in the U.S. today.  ZERO.  And the number of cases of other killer and debilitating diseases dramatically reduced.

There is, in short, few preventative healthcare mesures as proven as vaccination. It saves lives.  It saves money. It reduces other burdens on the healthcare system.  You would think it was a no-brainer.

Sadly, these days vaccines are also often a political football.  This story from Slate [2] looks at efforts to improve vaccination rates in Vermont and the resulting mess and confusion.
