The 2009 edition of the Reporter’s Handbook is your guide to America’s biopharmaceutical research industry, which is devoted to inventing medicines that allow patients to live longer, healthier and more productive lives. In the following chapters you will find listings of media contacts at our member companies, international affiliates and associates, as well as health-related organizations, patient organizations, government agencies and international trade associations. In addition to media contacts, the handbook also includes facts and figures about the pharmaceutical industry—from how long it takes to get a drug developed and approved to facts about outpatient spending on prescription medicines.
