A New Resource: the PhRMA Drug Shortages Resource Center
by Kate Connors on 1/18/2012
It’s no secret that some patients across the country have faced drug shortages, and this is an issue that we take very seriously. Unfortunately, it is not a problem that is easily remedied.
In an effort to help patients find solutions, we’ve created a resource page on our Web site with some information about shortages, including links to FDA’s shortages page and some essential Do’s and Don’ts. For example, the site urges patients not to take medicine from outside the traditional supply chain or take someone else’s medicine.
It also includes a video introduction from PhRMA President and CEO John Castellani, who shares his thoughts on this incredibly important issue. And, as more information and tips become available, we’ll be sure to update the resource center.
